NASRIC Teagasc
Project Details
Robert Quinn Ltd. was the main contractor for the construction of the National Agricultural Sustainability Research and Innovation Centre (NASRIC) at Teagasc Johnstown Castle, which opened in 2025. The Centre plays a critical role in advancing Teagasc’s research and innovation activities, focusing on the development and implementation of technologies that enable farmers to achieve both economic and environmental sustainability. Robert Quinn Ltd. carried out the construction of a state-of-the-art laboratory building, as well as the refurbishment and modernization of existing laboratories and office spaces, all within an operational environment that prioritises sustainability and efficiency.
The NASRIC has a floor area in excess of 2200m2. The new building comprises structural blockwork perimeter and internal walls, precast concrete floor slabs and roof, pvc membrane roof and high performance aluminium windows and curtain walling.Notable architectural details, include a fairfaced-finished cast in-situ GGBS concrete canopy over the main entrance – as well as stone gabion cladding, that along with the framed and staggered fenestration.
