Tramore, Waterford

Coastguard Station

Project Details

Tramore Development Trust approached the Office of Public Works to investigate the feasibility of restoring and operating what was then known as the ‘old Coastguard Station’. We were delighted to be appointed as the main contractor for this restoration. Tramore’s Coastguard Station is a not-for-profit enterprise and a registered charity. Many of the team at the Coastguard Station are working on CE and TUS schemes and the enterprise is delighted to be able to provide local employment and training opportunities.

We were appointed as the main contractor to bring this landmark building back to its former glory. The Station building is listed as a protected structure under the Waterford County Development Plan. The project comprised of the complete restoration and refurbishment of the Coastguard Station along with the provision of a new garage building, restoration of outbuildings, complete with the provision of car parking, amenity areas and all other site and development works.
